Scotscub57 yrshi Jake, some of these brings back some good memories back to me, I know I had the likes of Celtic Frost, Candlemass, King Diamond on vinyl many years ago & I used to love them, sadly I gave most of my records away , but it's great to hear Candlemass which was one of my fav doom metal bands, there was other great doom/thrash metal bands that came out of the 80's like Exodus, Testament, Paradise Lost, Crimson Glory, even Overkill was another heavy band of the 80's, you're right about the big divide about the Glam rock & the Thrashers/moshers I was into the Thrash & still enjoy it even today, but that's the beauty of Rock/metal etc! it formed into different genres throughout the years, you either liked it or not, I'm still proud of being a rock/metal/punk fan here.
